The classic Italian shave, step by step

  1. Hot towel to soften the beard and open the skin.
  2. Shaving cream, often worked in with a traditional shaving brush.
  3. Straight-razor shave, with the grain, then a second pass if your skin allows.
  4. Hot towel again.
  5. Relaxing face massage.
  6. Cold towel to close the pores and tone the skin.
  7. Aftershave and a face massage.
  8. A spray of scented tonic to finish.

This is the classic Italian beard ritual, the way Jonathan and Ivano learned it. About 30 minutes.
